Donate – Injured Driver Fund

Purpose

This fund is in place to offer a benefit to an employee or owner that has been injured while performing his or her duties as a tow truck operator for an Association of Professional Towers – Ohio (APTO) member company.

THE COMPANY

I. The Company employing the injured driver must be a member of APTO in good standing at the time of the incident and at the time of the application submission.

  • The Company must submit the application on behalf of the injured driver to the APTO Injured Driver Committee Chair.
  • Applications for the injured driver are available on the APTO website or from an APTO Injured Driver Committee Member

II. An operator that is an independent contractor to a qualifying company is not eligible for benefits.

III. Applications and all documentations must be submitted within 30 days of the accident / incident.

 

EMPLOYEE

I. The Employee must be currently employed by a valid APTO member company.

II. The Employee must be on the clock at the time of the accident, and performing the duties of a tow truck operator including all aspects of towing and recovery. (No shop related accidents or medical conditions will be covered)

III. The Employee must notify their employer of injury within 24 hours of the accident

IV. The injured person must be employed by the company submitting the application for a minimum of 90 days

V. Injury must be verified by a medical examiner

BENEFITS*

Benefits will be paid in the amount of:

  • Injuries, out of work (14 days) $150
  • Injuries, out of work (15 days – 4 weeks) $300
  • Injuries, out of work (5 weeks – 1 year) $600
  • Death (at time of incident) $2000

*Terms and conditions are subject to change per availability of funds and per association vote

 

CONSIDERATION

Email APTO and request and application. Once the application is submitted to the APTO Board of Directors, it will be reviewed and investigated by the Board. The application will then be voted on for a final approval.
